Movers in Midtown, Manhattan
-
Moves inside Midtown or to any other borough, usually finished in a single day. Local moving starts from $99 an hour, and the final price is confirmed in a free written quote. We time the load around your building elevator window and the curb rules on your block.
-
Full home moves out of Midtown East co-ops, Midtown West rentals and new glass towers. We protect hallways and elevators, wrap every piece of furniture and set up the new place room by room.
-
Midtown is packed with office towers, and each one has its own freight rules. We pack desks, files and IT equipment, label every box and plan the move around your building management and your work week.
-
Prefer one price up front? Ask for a flat fee quote based on your inventory, the floors at both ends and the distance, so the number stays the same on move day.
-
Art, antiques and framed pieces get custom crating and careful handling, which matters in towers where a freight elevator is the only way in or out.
-
Between leases or downsizing? We pick up from your Midtown apartment, store your things at our Red Hook facility in Brooklyn and deliver them when you are ready.
-
Leaving Midtown for another state? Our long-distance movers pack, load and drive your shipment to your new home, with storage in between if your dates do not line up.
-
Studios, one-bedrooms and family apartments, in doorman buildings and walk-ups alike. We book the service elevator, send the COI and carry everything down the stairs when there is no elevator at all.

How Much Do Midtown Movers Cost?
For a local move in Midtown we charge from $99 an hour, and every quote is confirmed in writing before move day. The total depends on how much you are moving, the elevator and stair access at both buildings and how far you are going.
Want one number with no hourly math? Ask about flat rate movers when you request your quote.
What Midtown Movers Run Into
Midtown moves are decided by building rules, traffic and the curb more than by distance. Here is what our movers plan for before move day.
Doorman and Office Tower Rules
Most managed Midtown buildings ask for a certificate of insurance, a booked freight or service elevator and moves inside set weekday hours. Ask your management office for its rules as soon as you have a date, and we will send the COI and confirm the elevator time with the super.
Inside the Congestion Relief Zone
All of Midtown sits inside the zone that starts at 60th Street, so a moving truck pays a toll to enter it. Ask about it when you get your quote, so the total you see covers the whole day.
Truck Routes and Tunnel Traffic
Commercial trucks are not allowed on the FDR Drive, so Midtown East moves run up the avenues. The Lincoln Tunnel and Queens-Midtown Tunnel approaches back up at rush hour, and we schedule departures around them on moves to New Jersey, Queens and Long Island. Moving across the park instead? Our Upper West Side moving team plans that crosstown run too.
UN Week on the East Side
During the UN General Assembly in late September, First Avenue closes between 41st and 48th Street and nearby cross streets close too. If your move falls that week, pick another date or plan for a slower day on the East Side.
Midtown Neighborhoods We Move
Midtown covers very different blocks, and each part changes how the move runs.
Midtown East and Turtle Bay
Pre-war co-ops, doorman rentals and the blocks around the United Nations. Expect board rules, weekday move hours and East Side closures during UN week, so book the elevator early. Many Turtle Bay customers move uptown next, and Upper East Side co-op moves follow very similar board rules.
Midtown West and the Garment District
Older walk-ups, loft buildings with freight elevators and heavy truck traffic near the Lincoln Tunnel. Stairs and loading docks set the pace here, so tell us your floor and whether the building has a freight car. Moving a few blocks south? The same loft and walk-up planning carries over when moving in Chelsea.
Central Midtown
Times Square, Rockefeller Center and the towers around Grand Central. Crowds and tight curb space make timing everything, and office tower moves follow strict building schedules. Office tenants who trade a tower for a downtown loft can count on our SoHo crew for the cast-iron buildings there.
