Movers in East Harlem, Manhattan
-
Moves inside East Harlem or to any other borough, usually finished in a single day. Local moving starts from $99 an hour, and the final price is confirmed in a free written quote. We plan the load around your stairs, your elevator booking and the curb on your block.
-
Full home moves out of walk-ups, family apartments and the newer rental towers on First and Second Avenue. We protect stairwells and elevators, wrap every piece of furniture and set up the new place room by room.
-
Shops, restaurants and small offices along 116th Street, Third Avenue and Lexington Avenue. We pack stock, equipment and files, label every box and move you on a schedule that keeps your doors open.
-
Prefer one price up front? Ask for a flat fee quote based on your inventory, the floors at both ends and the distance, so the number stays the same on move day.
-
Art, antiques and framed pieces get custom crating and careful handling, whether they are coming down a walk-up stairwell or a high-rise service elevator.
-
Between leases or downsizing? We pick up from your East Harlem apartment, store your things at our Red Hook facility in Brooklyn and deliver them when you are ready.
-
Leaving East Harlem for another state? Our long-distance movers pack, load and drive your shipment to your new home, with storage in between if your dates do not line up.
-
Studios, one-bedrooms and family apartments, in elevator towers and walk-ups alike. We book the service elevator, send the COI and carry everything down the stairs when there is no elevator at all.

What East Harlem Movers Run Into
East Harlem moves are decided by stairs, building rules and the route out more than by distance. Here is what our movers plan for before move day.
Walk-Ups Next to New Towers
Older walk-ups sit on the same blocks as new rental towers with doormen and service elevators. Walk-ups mean stair carries, while the towers usually want a certificate of insurance and a booked elevator. Tell us which one you have at both ends, and we will plan the crew to match.
FDR Drive and Harlem River Drive Truck Bans
Commercial trucks are not allowed on the FDR Drive or the Harlem River Drive, even though both run right along the neighborhood. Moves heading downtown use First Avenue and Second Avenue, and moves to Queens or the Bronx use the bridges that take trucks. Just south of 96th Street, our Yorkville crew plans around the same FDR Drive ban.
Busy Avenues and Street Work
Third Avenue, Lexington Avenue and 116th Street are packed with buses, deliveries and shoppers, and street work can close lanes on some blocks. We check the block ahead of time and plan the closest legal spot for the truck.
Bridges to the Bronx and Queens
The Willis Avenue and Third Avenue Bridges cross to the Bronx, and the RFK Bridge at 125th Street leads to Queens and the Bronx. They make short moves out of East Harlem quick, as long as the truck leaves before rush hour. Our Washington Heights movers time the George Washington Bridge the same way for moves heading to New Jersey.
East Harlem Areas We Move
East Harlem covers very different blocks, and each one changes how the move runs.
116th Street and El Barrio
Walk-ups above shops and restaurants around 116th Street and Third Avenue, the heart of El Barrio. Crowded sidewalks make an early start the easiest option.
First Avenue and Second Avenue
Newer rental towers and larger apartment complexes toward the East River, near Thomas Jefferson Park. Managed buildings here usually ask for a COI and set elevator hours. Our movers on the Upper East Side handle the same COI and elevator rules in the doorman buildings below 96th Street.
Upper Park Avenue and Lexington
Walk-ups, brownstones and mid-size buildings near the Metro-North tracks on Park Avenue and the Lexington Avenue subway. Narrow stairs and tight curbs call for a careful plan. If you are moving in Inwood instead, the buildings get bigger and the stairs get longer.
