Movers in Harlem, Manhattan
-
Moves inside Harlem or to any other borough, usually finished in a single day. Local moving starts from $99 an hour, and the final price is confirmed in a free written quote. We plan the load around your stoop, your stairs and the curb on your block.
-
Full home moves out of brownstones, row houses and the newer rental buildings along Frederick Douglass Boulevard. We protect banisters, floors and doorways, wrap every piece of furniture and set up the new place room by room.
-
Shops, restaurants, studios and small offices along 125th Street and the avenues. We pack stock, equipment and files, label every box and move you on a schedule that keeps your doors open.
-
Prefer one price up front? Ask for a flat fee quote based on your inventory, the floors at both ends and the distance, so the number stays the same on move day.
-
Art, antiques and heirloom furniture get custom crating and careful handling, which matters on narrow brownstone stairs where there is little room to turn a large piece.
-
Renovating a townhouse or between leases? We pick up from your Harlem home, store your things at our Red Hook facility in Brooklyn and deliver them when the work is done or the new place is ready.
-
Leaving Harlem for another state? Our long-distance movers pack, load and drive your shipment to your new home, with storage in between if your dates do not line up.
-
Studios, floor-throughs and family apartments, in walk-ups and elevator buildings alike. We book the service elevator, send the COI and carry everything down the stairs when there is no elevator at all.

How Much Do Harlem Movers Cost?
For a local move in Harlem we charge from $99 an hour, and every quote is confirmed in writing before move day. The total depends on how much you are moving, the stoop, stairs or elevator at both buildings and how far you are going.
Want one number with no hourly math? Ask about flat rate movers when you request your quote.
What Harlem Movers Run Into
Harlem moves are decided by stoops, stairs and the curb more than by distance. Here is what our movers plan for before move day.
Brownstone Stoops and Narrow Stairs
A lot of Harlem housing is in brownstones and row houses with a stoop out front and a narrow, turning staircase inside. Measure sofas, beds and dressers before move day and tell us about the stairs, so we know if anything has to come apart or go out through a window. Heading to a bigger pre-war apartment up north? Our movers in Inwood work in large elevator buildings every week.
The 125th Street Corridor
125th Street is one of the busiest commercial streets uptown, with buses, deliveries and heavy foot traffic all day. We plan the truck spot on a side street when we can and start early to stay ahead of the crowds.
Older Buildings and Newer Rentals
Pre-war walk-ups sit next to new rental buildings with doormen, service elevators and certificate of insurance rules. Ask your management office for its requirements as soon as you have a date, and we will send the COI and confirm the elevator time. Our Upper West Side movers deal with the same COI paperwork in the doorman buildings south of 110th Street.
Parkway Truck Bans
Commercial trucks are not allowed on the Harlem River Drive or the Henry Hudson Parkway. Moves heading to the Bronx, Queens or downtown run along the avenues and the truck routes to the bridges, and we time departures around rush hour.
Harlem Areas We Move
Harlem covers a lot of ground, and each part changes how the move runs.
Strivers' Row and the West 130s
Historic row houses on West 138th and West 139th Streets, with rear service alleys behind them, plus brownstone blocks nearby. Tight stairs and stoops set the pace, so we bring the right size crew and plenty of floor protection. Further up St. Nicholas Avenue, our Washington Heights crew handles the same long walk-up stairwells.
Mount Morris Park
Brownstones and row houses around Marcus Garvey Park, many divided into floor-through apartments. Tree-lined blocks and narrow curbs call for a careful truck plan. If you are moving in Morningside Heights, up the Morningside Park stairs to the west, the buildings are mostly pre-war co-ops.
Lenox Avenue and Frederick Douglass Boulevard
Walk-ups, co-ops and newer rental buildings along the wide avenues of Central Harlem. Managed buildings here often ask for a COI and a booked service elevator.
