Movers in Greenwich Village, Manhattan
-
Moves inside Greenwich Village or to any other borough, usually finished in a single day. Local moving starts from $99 an hour, and the final price is confirmed in a free written quote. We time the load around your elevator booking, your stairs and the curb on your block.
-
Full home moves out of Fifth Avenue co-ops, University Place rentals and walk-ups off MacDougal Street. We protect lobbies, elevators and hallways, wrap every piece of furniture and set up the new place room by room.
-
Offices, studios and shops around Washington Square and Broadway. We pack desks, files and equipment, label every box and plan the move around building management, often on evenings or weekends.
-
Prefer one price up front? Ask for a flat fee quote based on your inventory, the floors at both ends and the distance, so the number stays the same on move day.
-
Art, antiques and framed pieces get custom crating and careful handling, whether they are coming out of a pre-war co-op or a townhouse near the park.
-
Graduating, studying abroad or between leases? We pick up from your Greenwich Village apartment, store your things at our Red Hook facility in Brooklyn and deliver them when you are ready.
-
Leaving Greenwich Village for another state? Our long-distance movers pack, load and drive your shipment to your new home, with storage in between if your dates do not line up.
-
Studios, one-bedrooms and family apartments, in doorman co-ops and older walk-ups alike. We book the service elevator, send the COI and carry everything down the stairs when there is no elevator.

How Much Do Greenwich Village Movers Cost?
For a local move in Greenwich Village we charge from $99 an hour, and every quote is confirmed in writing before move day. The total depends on how much you are moving, the elevator and stair access at both buildings and how far you are going.

What Greenwich Village Movers Run Into
Greenwich Village moves are shaped by the school year, co-op rules and crowds around the park. Here is what our movers plan for before move day.
The NYU Calendar
With NYU spread around Washington Square, late August, early September and the end of May are the busiest weeks for moves here, and the streets fill with families and rental trucks. Book early if your lease turns over then, or pick a mid-month date for more choice of time slots. Students who want quieter townhouse blocks often end up moving in the West Village, and we can plan both ends of that move.
Co-op Rules on Fifth Avenue and University Place
Many of the larger buildings north of the park are co-ops with weekday-only move hours, a booked service elevator and a certificate of insurance with exact wording. Ask your managing agent for the rules as soon as you have a date, and we will send the COI and confirm the elevator time. Our movers in Midtown send the same COI paperwork to the large co-ops and rental towers uptown.
Crowds Around Washington Square
Foot traffic around the park, MacDougal Street and Bleecker Street is heavy most of the day, especially on weekends. Early starts keep the carry from the truck short and safe for everyone on the sidewalk.
Inside the Congestion Relief Zone
All of Greenwich Village sits inside the zone that starts at 60th Street, so a moving truck pays a toll to enter it. Ask about it when you get your quote, so the total you see covers the whole day.
Greenwich Village Areas We Move
Greenwich Village covers several distinct pockets, and each one changes how the move runs.
Washington Square and Lower Fifth Avenue
Pre-war co-ops and doorman buildings line lower Fifth Avenue, with historic townhouses on Washington Square North. Expect building rules, booked elevators and lobbies that need full protection.
MacDougal Street and Bleecker Street
Walk-up apartments above cafes, music venues and shops south and west of the park. Stairs and busy sidewalks set the pace, so tell us your floor up front. South of Houston Street, our SoHo movers deal with the same crowded sidewalks and shop deliveries.
University Place and Broadway
Elevator rentals, co-ops and NYU housing between Fifth Avenue and Broadway. Many of these buildings have loading areas or service entrances, which we book in advance when the building allows. Above 14th Street, our Chelsea crew handles the same mix of loft buildings and elevator rentals.
